Social Studies and Technology

So as I was doing another assignment for a class, an article review, I came across an interesting article on Social Studies and how a teacher implemented technology to help deliver the Social Studies Curriculum in a new and interesting way. I love Social Studies and history, but at times I know it can be pretty dry, and well kind of boring. So maybe technology can help with this small issue.

Retooling the Social Studies Classroom

  1. Hey Lindsey. I may have come across the same article or one similiar to yours in doing my Social Studies article review too. I agree that implementing technology into Social Studies will make it more interesting and perhaps engage students more. An interesting point in the article I have read is that the Social Studies classroom has lagged behind other classrooms in implementing technology. You would think it would have been one of the first since it is "pretty dry" and "kind of boring" and technology is a great way of engaging students.

  2. I completely agree! I absolutely love Social Studies but unfortunately many students find it "boring" because of other teachers who have not been able to engage them, unfortunately. :(

I want to share some amazing social studies teachers who are doing amazing tech things with their students! I've used their ideas and resources several times, maybe you can find it useful too!
